Animal Ecology Lab

The Animal Ecology lab provides microscopy equipment, wet plant reference material, freezer and bench space for general sorting, measuring and storing of field collected biological samples supporting a wide range of field-based research and technical expertise primarily concentrating on New Zealand mammalian pest species research including: diet analysis; browsing impacts, pest monitoring, age estimations using tooth cementum layers and eye lens weights and species identification using chew marks and hair structure analysis.
